Evidence

Review clinician-facing evidence summaries that translate research into practical decision-making.

Evidence summaries that translate into day-to-day decisions

The evidence hub distils key research areas into clinically usable summaries. The emphasis is on questions that genuinely change management: whether steroid is likely to help, what the evidence says about hyaluronic acid for knee osteoarthritis, how to think about shockwave therapy, where frozen shoulder responds to injection plus rehabilitation, and what good conservative care still looks like in a procedure-focused world.

These pages do not aim to replace systematic reviews. They aim to make the evidence usable in practice. Each summary therefore links the literature back to tissue behaviour, irritability, patient expectations, target selection and aftercare.

How to use the evidence pages

Use them as fast appraisals before a clinic session, as transparency pages for referrers, or as support material when explaining treatment options to patients. The strongest use of evidence is not citation for its own sake. It is helping the right patient receive the right intervention at the right point in the pathway.
